Sales Development Representative (Vancouver, Part-Time)

About Benji's

Benji's designs, installs and cares for plants in offices across Toronto and Vancouver, and has done so for over 40 years. We work with some of the largest, most beautiful workplaces in the city, including Shopify, CBRE and WeWork.

We're an established company with 40 years of experience, growing our Vancouver business. We're looking for a part-time Sales Development Representative who is ready to take ownership of customer relationships and grow with the business. This is a junior-to-intermediate opportunity with real potential to take on greater responsibility as our Vancouver presence expands.

This part-time role covers the sales process from initial lead follow-up through to closing the sale. Most leads are generated through our systems, so your focus will be on understanding customer needs, developing clear proposals, and keeping opportunities moving. Sales can take several months to close, making consistent follow-up, organization, and relationship building essential.

What you'll do

  • Review the CRM regularly, prioritize active opportunities, and follow up with prospective and existing Vancouver customers by phone and email.
  • Manage leads from initial contact through discovery, quoting, proposal follow-up, and closing.
  • Arrange and conduct customer site visits in the Vancouver area to gather the details needed for accurate quotes and proposals.
  • Prepare clear, tailored quote proposals and coordinate internally to confirm scope, pricing, and feasibility.
  • Explain proposals, answer questions, address objections, and help customers reach a decision.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, including customer requirements, site visit notes, sales stage, next steps, and expected close dates.
  • Keep longer sales cycles moving with timely, relevant follow-up while building customer trust.
  • Share customer feedback and help improve our sales process as the Vancouver business grows.

What you bring

  • Previous sales or business development experience, including managing leads through to a closed sale.
  • Experience nurturing opportunities over sales cycles that can last several months.
  • Strong organization and follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities without missing commitments.
  • Clear written and verbal communication and a professional, approachable manner with customers.
  • Confidence asking questions, gathering requirements on-site, and preparing accurate proposals.
  • Comfort using a CRM and everyday office tools.
  • Initiative, willingness to learn, and the ability to work independently in a fast-moving, growing business.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle for customer site visits in the Vancouver area.

Why join us

  • The opportunity to make a visible contribution to an established company growing its Vancouver presence.
  • Hands-on experience across the full sales cycle, on a schedule that fits part-time hours.
  • Room to grow into more hours and broader sales responsibilities as the Vancouver business expands and you demonstrate results.
  • The chance to help shape how we serve Vancouver customers and build our local sales process.

If you enjoy building relationships, staying on top of details, and turning customer interest into sales, we'd like to hear from you.

Compensation & schedule

  • Base pay: $20–$29/hour (CAD), pro-rated from the full-time role, based on experience, plus commission
  • Commission: 10–15% of closed contract value (tiered; higher rates as you scale)
  • Vacation and statutory holidays in line with the BC Employment Standards Act
  • Schedule: part-time, based in Vancouver with customer site visits
